Title: ESY Substitute Special Education Teacher
Reports To: Director of Student Programs
Qualifications:
- Special Education Certification
- Meet all certification requirements for Oklahoma, including teaching area endorsement
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Position Goals: To provide Special Education Services for students who meet the criteria for Extended School Year
Responsibilities:
- Follows the procedures, practices and guidelines outlined by the school, district, State and Federal laws intended to keep students healthy and safe
- Provide services as outlined on the student’s Individualized Education Plan
- Prepares materials and equipment prior to the start of the class
- Plans consistently to address student diverse learning needs
- Plans with other members of the team
- Establishes a classroom climate where students are engaged and expectations are clear
- Engages students in active learning and uses a variety of strategies to support learning
- Prepares Progress Report at the end of ESY and enters all information relative to the student on EdPlan
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Terms of Employment: June 1, 2024 - June 30, 2024 (as needed)
