Individuals interested in substituting for Jenks Public Schools must complete the application process and attend a Substitute Orientation prior to being selected to substitute in the district. Please follow the below steps:
Step 1: Complete the online substitute application.
Step 2: Complete the JPS Substitute Packet. You may print the packet from this page, fill in highlighted areas online and print the packet, or pick up a copy at the JPS Substitute Office.
Step 3: Visit the JPS Substitute Office to register for the Substitute Orientation. The Sub Office is located in the Education Service Center at 211 East A Street in Jenks. Office hours are 6:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. You must call for an appointment and register in person.
The following will be required for registration:
- A completed Substitute Packet
- Proof of education (Transcript or Diploma)
- Current Oklahoma Teaching Certificate (if applicable)
- Driver's License or other government issued ID
- Social Security Card
- Voided check for Direct Deposit
Step 4: Attend Substitute Orientation.
Individuals must complete the steps above to attend. Additionally, attendees at the orientation will be required to be fingerprinted for a national background check as required by Oklahoma state law. Individuals who have completed a background check in another district within the past 12 months should notify the Sub Office prior to orientation.
