Position: Home Instruction Special Education Teacher, Temporary
Reports to: Student Programs Director
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- Hold or be eligible for Oklahoma Special Education or related service field teaching certificate
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard with regard to physical health and citizenship
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable
Position Goal: Provide Home Instruction Services for students who currently have Home Instruction Services identified on their Individualized Education Programs (IEP)
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Communicate with Site Special Education Coordinator and Teacher of Record to determine student needs and plan for retrieving school work for identified students
- Provide services for identified student Monday-Friday only. The total time a student is served is determined by the IEP team. Services are not provided on holidays, professional days and during summer break
- Serve students on Home Instruction with a minimum time of 9 hours per week and a possible maximum of 20 hours per week
- Utilize a method documentation to determine when completed work is send to the regular or special education teacher
- Attend IEP meetings as needed to assist in providing input for supporting the student’s needs
- Provide data on goal progress and report to the teacher in order to complete IEP Progress Reports
- Complete Confidentiality Training and Home Instruction Teacher training along with additional professional development as determined by the district
- Maintain labor claim record and turn into Student Programs Special Education Record room weekly
- Perform all other duties as assigned
