JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Early Childhood Assistant-Kindergarten
Position Information: 30 Hours Per Week, 9 Months Per Year (2231)
Classification: Classified Hourly - CB
Qualifications:
- Satisfy No Child Left Behind requirements by:
a. Having an associate’s degree or higher, or
b. Completing at least 2 years of study (48hrs.) at an institution of higher ed, or
c. Taking and passing a rigorous standard of demonstrated quality by June 30, 2006.
2. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Reports To: Principal
Position Goals: To have direct involvement with children for majority of the day.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teacher regarding instructional plans
- Assist with classroom lessons and activities
- Facilitate small/large group activities
- Facilitate center activities
- Support the class behavior plan
- Supervision of children during teacher plan period, lunch, and recess
- Assist children with restroom needs when necessary
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by supervisor
Terms of Employment:
Nine (9) months a year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Benefits as established by Board policy.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education's policy on Staff Evaluation (2.21/classified).
