Position: Community Education Substitute Paraprofessional
Reports to: Site Coordinator - Before & After School Enrichment
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Must possess one of the following requirements:
- Hold Child Development Associate (CDA)
- Hold Certificate of Mastery
- Completed thirty (30) college hours which includes fifteen (15) hours of child development coursework.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree which includes six (6) hours of child development coursework.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: Assist in the implementation of the program designed to meet the specific goals and objectives for each student, through the provision of individual attention, additional and/or enrichment instruction.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist the teacher with instruction and/or activities for individual students or groups of students.
- Assist with meeting the physical and training needs of students.
- Modify materials and maintain room for instruction of special education students.
- Accompany special education students to and from activities.
- Maintain student records, i.e., confidentiality, and adhere to school schedules.
- Participate in professional development and other training programs in accordance with licensing standards and requirements per licensed year.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Nine (9) month classified hourly contract
