Position: Swim Lesson Instructor
Reports to: Coordinator, Trojan Aquatic Center
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Certification in CPR, First Aid (Required) and Water Safety Instructor (WSI) preferred.
- Demonstrated ability in working with young children, parents and community members.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: To create an atmosphere where kids successfully learn how to swim.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate knowledge of swim lesson teaching skills, leadership, organization and teamwork.
- Create an environment that is conducive to learning.
- Establish and maintain standards of student behavior.
- Provide oversight for the safety conditions at all times.
- Model positive reinforcement with students and staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
