Position:           Warehouse/Delivery

 

Reports to:         Director of Printing/Warehouse

 

Supervises:        None

 

Qualifications:       

  1. High School diploma or GED required.
  2. Demonstrate reasoning, communication and problem solving skills; as well as aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
  3. Must be self-motivated, self directed, dependable and task oriented.
  4. Demonstrate ability to work with others and execute assignments with minimum supervision.
  5. Must have a background in customer relations, conversational and telephone etiquette, keyboarding, and file management.
  6. Must exhibit aptitude in computer technology, inventory control, stock rotation and storage.
  7. Use basic mathematics skills (multiplication, division, addition, subtraction and fractions) on a daily basis.
  8. Basic knowledge of machinery or general mechanics is beneficial.
  9. Posses general knowledge of product/material handling, warehousing operations and processes.  Prior experience or training is very beneficial.
  10. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
  11. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goal:  Provide the necessary resources to assist staff and faculty in the overall educational process by providing the highest level of service in the most productive and efficient manner.  Procure, receive, distribute or transport documents, equipment, furniture, food products, books and instructional supplies as deemed necessary by the superintendent or designee.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Participate in the overall operation of the warehouse as directed by the shipping and receiving manager or assistant.
  2. Responsible for all items, materials and supplies received, delivered, checked-in, and inventoried at the warehouse or by warehouse personnel.
  3. Compare count and accuracy of materials or items as delivered and received with vendor’s packing slip and customer’s purchase order.  Show evidence by signature and date all documents.
  4. Process required paperwork for delivery preparation and/or inventory control.  Double check each order prior to delivery or customer pick-up.
  5. Report any discrepancies or product damage to manager immediately to initiate corrective action and/or notify proper authorities.
  6. Maintain sufficient warehouse inventory and rotate stock on shelves upon receiving materials and products from vendors or as needed.
  7. Participate in periodical physical inventories of warehouse stock and food service products as required.
  8. Deliver, pick-up, move, assemble or disassemble furniture as needed.
  9. Keep equipment clean and in an orderly manner.  Report mechanical problems to supervisor.
  10. Keep vehicles clean (inside and outside).  Perform operator evaluations and maintenance as needed or scheduled.  Report non-operator and/or major repairs to supervisor and transportation department.
  11. Properly store all chemicals and supplies to avoid a hazardous environment and maintain work areas in a clean and sanitary condition.
  12. Report any need(s) for repair of equipment or facilities to supervisor.  Monitor all regular or special maintenance performed by service department or vendor.
  13. Complete any paperwork applicable for documentation or processing of jobs, orders or request for service.
  14. Follow predetermined schedule/procedures and meet deadlines for all regular activities and special requests for delivering US, inter-departmental mail, warehouse orders and small parcels with priority towards maintaining a schedule.
  15. Perform assigned tasks within a specific time period to meet production and performance standards of specific equipment, and/or allow for the timely completion of work prior to the scheduled delivery or customer pick-up.
  16. Adapt to changing priorities and complete all assignments or tasks as quickly and efficiently as possible.  Regular daily schedules may be altered as deemed necessary by supervisory personnel to give priority to time sensitive materials, activities or events.
  17. Notify supervisor of any special instructions, potential problems, unusual or suspicious circumstances involving schedules, assignments, customer relations, deliveries, pick-ups, orders, products, merchandise, parcels, packages or mail. 
  18. Upon successful completion of all duties and responsibilities listed; inform supervisory personnel and inquire of additional responsibilities or task.
  19. Work with and/or supervise activities of temporary or part-time, adult and student volunteers.
  20. Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Employment Terms:  Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract, (40hrs., 10mo. and 36hrs., 2mo.)

Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.

 

Visual Requirements:  Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

 

Hearing/Speaking Requirements:  Adequate to exchange information.
