Position: Temporary Interpreter (non-ASL)
Reports to: District Title III/ELD Coordinator and Director of Student Support & Accountability
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong oral communication skills in English and target language.
- Experience providing interpretation services.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: Provide interpretation services for JPS staff and parents/guardians.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Interpret parent/guardian target language (non-ASL) conferences and meetings into English for JPS staff and conferences and meetings into target language for parents/guardians.
Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month temporary assignment contract; as needed basis only.

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
