Position: Child Nutrition Worker II
Reports to: Child Nutrition Manager
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Health, strength and endurance to perform assigned duties.
- Food Service Handlers Permit required.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: To serve students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness while meeting all Federal and State guidelines for Child Nutrition Programs.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Performs duties of the manager, with the exception of evaluations and discipline, in the event of the manager’s absence.
- Maintains student meal accounts on point-of-sale software.
- Performs assigned duties in quality food production following menus and standardized recipes using quality preparation and service methods with safe food handling techniques to ensure Child Nutrition Department standards of the following:
- Food quality, palatability and appearance
- Correct, safe temperatures
- Proper utensil portion sizes
- Proper and timely storage of deliveries and leftover food
- Appearance of serving lines for eye appeal
- Maintains defined standards of sanitation and safety as outlined by local state health departments.
- Maintains required departmental records.
- Serves students and adults in a pleasant manner while ensuring Federal guidelines are followed.
- Professional appearance in accordance with department standards.
- Maintains all guidelines required of child Nutrition Programs as instructed by the Manager and Child Nutrition Director.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Nine (9) month classified hourly contract
