Position: Technology Resource Technician
Reports to: Service Desk Coordinator
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Experience and familiarity with modern operating systems
- Experience with installing, using, maintaining, and troubleshooting IP/Analog cameras and software
- Experience with installing, using, maintaining, and troubleshooting door access software and hardware
- Experience with installing, using, maintaining, and troubleshooting Audio/Visual equipment
- Experience with installing, using, maintaining, and troubleshooting hardware and software within a district.
- High level of interpersonal skills, ability to be creative, flexible, patient and willing to work cooperatively with all types of people.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal:
- The Technology Resource Technician will assist with installation, maintenance and repair of all technology and networking resources considered part of the technology program within the District.
- This person will work directly with the district Technology Department to implement and meet the ongoing technology demands that support the District Strategic Technology Plan.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the coordination and installation of technology resources (both hardware and software) ordered for specific sites.
- Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and coordinate the upkeep of security cameras throughout the district.
- Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and coordinate the upkeep of door access hardware and software throughout the district.
- Ability to assess, troubleshoot, and coordinate the upkeep of audio and video systems throughout the district.
- Works directly with Site Technology Resource Peer Coordinators, Director of Technology and other Technology Department staff to implement and oversee a planned technology maintenance program.
- Reports hardware problems and coordinates the repair of Technology equipment within the District through the Technology Department.
- Troubleshoots specific problems pertaining to the ongoing operation of technology resources within the District.
- Research and forward recommendations for consideration during the annual updating of the District Technology Strategic Plan intended to result in minimal interruption of the technology operations of any school within the District.
- Assists the Technology Department with planning and preparation of technology training programs and other professional growth opportunities for members of administrative and instructional staff of the school.
- Meets regularly and maintains ongoing communication with all members of the Technology Department.
- Works with site personnel within the District, to help maintain an up to date inventory of software, hardware and other technology resources.
- Conducts and/or assists with training other certified, classified and/or volunteer staff.
- Assist the Technology Department with enforcing license agreements, copyright laws and all legal instructions regarding hardware and software use.
- Attends training sessions and professional meetings to maintain a high level of technical skill in the field.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract
