Position: Aquatic Center Fitness Instructor 

 

Reports to: Aquatic Center Director

 

Supervises:  None

 

Qualifications:

  1. High School diploma or GED required.
  2. Must hold current certification as an Aquatic Fitness Instructor by the United States Water Fitness Assoc.,Water Fitness Assoc., American Fitness Professionals & Associates, American Exercise Association, or equivalent professional standards association.
  3. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health, citizenship and background check.
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Model core organizational beliefs and values.
  2. Communicate openly and effectively with internal and external customers.
  3. Assist in providing facility leadership for community events.
  4. Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time.
  5. Provides adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down.
  6. Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles.
  7. Assists patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants.
  8. Keeps Aquatic Center Director informed of pool activities, facility needs, and significant problems.
  9. Ensures that safety standards are met, and that department and facility policies are adhered to.
  10. Perform all other duties as assigned.
