Position: Human Resources Specialist 

 

Reports to: Director of Personnel

 

Supervises: None

 

Qualifications:           

  1. High School diploma or GED required
  2. Demonstrate ability to use oral and written communication effectively
  3. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Position Goal: To assist in the daily operation of the Human Resources department and the effective maintenance of records related to the employment of personnel.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintains the organization and updating of personnel files including annual policy and felony affidavits.
  2. Maintains records for FMLA, Leave Without Pay, and other pertinent documentation related to Board policies.
  3. Provides information, answers questions and distributes application information or transfer forms to individuals inquiring about positions.
  4. Receives, processes, organizes, and maintains applicant files for screening as new positions are available.
  5. Prepares and distributes appropriate correspondence following interviews.
  6. Assists with the annual update of job descriptions.
  7. Meets with recommended employees to complete necessary forms, pre-employment physical, drug screen test and background checks before placing on the Board of Education agenda.
  8. Enters and maintains personnel information in School ERP Pro, the HRIS.
  9. Maintains and distributes appropriate probationary evaluation information, as well as, collects and files all annual personnel evaluation forms.
  10. Assists with verifying employment and completing various reports.
  11. Cross trains with other HR Specialists and Education Service Center staff.
  12. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract

Visual Requirements:  Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

 

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
