Position: School Bus Driver In-Training
Reports to: Training Department and Director of Transportation
Supervises: None
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Good driving record.
- Complies with all state requirements.
- Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
Position Goal: To obtain a class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Attend all theory training classes or complete the ELDT online 19.1 theory course and complete 4 section tests with an 80% or higher.
- Study and pass (4) section tests to obtain a commercial learner’s permit at the DPS office.
- Work with the transportation training instructors to learn all necessary skills to pass the DOT test to obtain a class B CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements.
- Learn to safely operate a school bus.
- Learn Jenks Transportation protocols.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
