Position: Strong Readers Act Tutor (Temporary, Classified or Certified - 9 openings)        

 

Reports to: Site/Building Principal and Reading Specialist/Literacy Coach

 

Supervises: None

 

Qualifications:      

1. Hold a valid Oklahoma Teaching Certificate.
2. Previous tutoring experience preferred.
3. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Position Goal: To provide intensive remediation in reading to students on Academic Progress Plans (SRA).

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Work with individual and/or small group instruction.

Employment Terms:  Temporary Classified ($13.00/hr) or Certified ($25.00/hr) contract; as needed

 

FLSA Qualification:  Non-exempt

Occasional Requirements:  Reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds. 

 

Visual Requirements:  Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

 

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
