Jenks Public Schools Job Description

 

Position: Permanent Substitute 

 

Reports to: Principal

 

Supervises: None

 

Qualifications:                

 

      1.  High School Diploma or GED required.

      2.  Associate’s degree preferred.

      3.  Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.

      4.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate

           and acceptable.

   

Position Goal: Fulfill duties as assigned by the site for the proper functioning of the school.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
  2. Provides classroom instruction to students as outlined in lesson plans or supervisor instructions.
  3. Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
  4. Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which they are assigned.
  5. Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  6. Creates an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  7. Maintains reasonable rules of conduct which encourage self-discipline and responsibility.
  8. Communicates effectively with staff and parents as needed.
  9. Collaborates with others to meet the needs of the school site.
  10. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Employment Terms:  Nine (9) month classified hourly contract

Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 50 pounds.

 

Visual Requirements:  Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

 

Hearing/Speaking Requirements:  Adequate to exchange information.
